August 27, 427
We left off after the fight with the Tratkean shapeshifters along the road. Fingol and Saporobir’s party was joined by Gregoire, Ambrogino and Karmrakir, completing the company. Tavenna remained at the Keeper academy in Amtolosz, training.
Karmrakir laid out his case before the rest of the party, suggesting that they collaborate to assassinate the local members of the Unpledged. Fingol was initially unmoved, but when Karm pointed out that the unpledged wanted to kill the wife of Earl Ilcarion, Fingol’s liege lord, Fingol strongly considered it.
Nonetheless, the party decided to continue following the trail of the mysterious skeletons for now.
August 28
The chase yielded two surprises this day. The first was a nest of king cobras along the trail, which was quickly dispatched, thankfully without any poisonings.
The second was a small ruined keep. The trail led here and there were signs of a clash between the skeletons and living navgarines. This was very close to the river marking the border between Rantalin (the overall party’s home) and Navgarin. After some searching yielded nothing, they continued to follow the skeleton party’s tracks, which lead to the river. Evidently the skeletons had marched straight through it.
August 29
The party turned aside to a ford, and made the Navgarine town of Leverenso, where we confirmed that local guards had seen the skeletons.
